Bend testing
Bend testing is a method used to examine the bendability of a material.
The method is mainly used in connection with welding procedure testing on butt welded joints to check for possible cracking when the base material, weld and transition zone are subjected to bending.
Bending is normally performed between a 90 and 180 degree angle. Depending on the thickness of the samples, side-buck samples or the top or root side of the sample are tested.
Bend testing is performed, for example, in technological testing and procedure testing.
