Asbestos decontamination with limited length
Welcome to our two-day training where you get both theoretical and practical knowledge in asbestos removal.
Target group
Everyone who is to lead or carry out the demolition of asbestos or asbestos-containing material and must have special education in accordance with AFS 2006:1, § 36.
Extent
The training covers 2 days. After completing the approved course, the participant receives a course certificate stating the level, scope and content of the education.
Purpose
The purpose of the training is to provide the participant with the theoretical and practical knowledge of safety aspects and demolition technology required in accordance with Arbetsmiljöverkets (the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s) regulations on asbestos.
After the training the participant will have the knowledge about:
- the current regulations
- what asbestos is, properties and where it can occur
- insights into health risks and medical check-ups
- protective measures
- emergency measures
- different working methods
- control measures
- practical knowledge of mechanical and personal equipment
- decontamination methods and waste management
- practical exercises of asbestos handling/demolition technique
The practical exercises are based on asbestos removal under normally difficult conditions. The elements include observance of all necessary protective measures, including wearing protective equipment and decontamination of personnel, as well as decontamination of the work area before demolition of the screen and locks.
