Asbestos analysis
Asbestos is a mineral that has been used for, among other things, fire protection, sound and heat insulation. It is also very harmful and may cause various diseases. Since 1982, it is prohibited to use asbestos in Sweden - according to the union construction, there are around 400.000 tonnes in the property portfolio.
The first thing you should do before starting a job is to inventory all the material. Asbestos is present in more than 3.000 products, such as pipe insulation, fix and joints, fiber cement slabs, flooring materials. When drilling or sawing in materials that contain asbestos fibers are released. When inhaled the fibers stuck in the lungs, which could eventually lead to various diseases.
To find out if a test sample contains asbestos fibers we utilize a polarized light microscope with phase contrast (PLM). In our work we follow national and international method descriptions.
In preparing the sample we use special imbedding fluids with a defined refractive index for each type of asbestos. In a microscope examination of the sample we determine the properties and appearance of a fiber, and from this the occurrence of asbestos can be determined.
Response time refers to working days - Monday to Friday. The response time of 2-3 hours may be held if there is available staff.
Air pump and analysis of air samples

Demand for the ability to analyze the presence of asbestos in the air increases. The sampling requires an air pump which is calibrated for the specific sampling.
We now offer complete kits for rental. The pump is ordered and picked up at our office. Upon delivery you will receive instructions on how the pump should be handled.
Are you an individual?
We welcome and also invite individuals to undertake environmental analyzes, for example regarding asbestos, PCBs, mold and water. Read more »
