Torbjörn Ygesjö, one of our course leaders

Interpretation of material certificates is a recurring education at Safe Control. The education is for people who work with quality assurance of metallic materials in manufacturing, machining and welding, but can also be interesting for other material areas where requirements for material certificates exist.

Torbjörn Ygesjö is the course leader and we asked him a few questions:

Torbjörn, what is the most important thing a participant should bring from the course?
- Understanding the difference between different certificate types, being able to interpret the information in the certificates and how that information is generated.

What is the most common question you get during this course?
- If the information in the certificate itself determines which certificate type it is.

What do you do when you're not leading courses?
- I carry out classification inspections and witness the testing of materials, components, systems and facilities that are intended to be installed on board ships and offshore installations. Also quality reviews at manufacturers are included in my job.

- In addition, I build on our old log house in Hälsingland, which we picked down and moved there five or six years ago.

It is time for control of drinking water

Now is the time when many people stay in their holiday homes after the winter break. Most of the houses get their drinking water from individual water sources, often wells. As a property/well owner, you are responsible for running and maintaining your own well and thus also for the water quality.

Difficult to detect if the water is contaminated
It is not always detectable if the water is bad - it can be clear and taste good, but still contain levels of harmful substances.

The National Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) therefore recommends that you analyze your drinking water at least every three years to be sure of the water quality.

Safe Control provides analysis of water samples
Contact us to get sampling vessels and correct sampling instructions. Please note: The water samples should be submitted to Safe Control no later than 13.00 (1.00 p.m) on the same day as the sampling was done. You can reach us on +46 (0)31 656470.
